Poem: God’s heir

Poem by Susan S. Collins
Published in the April 21, 2025 Issue of the Christian Science Sentinel

Our heavenly Father is to His beloved reflection
as immortal Principle is to its devoted heir:
ever-bestowing.

Our forever Mother is to Her cherished child
as consummate Love is to its adoring likeness:
ever-nurturing.

The great Shepherd is to His precious lambkin
as indivisible Soul is to its radiant representative:
ever-leading.

The living Word is to its exultant expression
as divine Mind is to its magnificent idea:
ever-imparting.

Unfathomable good is to its luminous celestial
as omnipresent Spirit is to its hallowed manifestation:
ever-unfolding.

The great I am is to His sparkling image
as eternal Truth is to its impeccable witness:
ever-anointing.

Inextinguishable Life is to its vital offspring
as the infinite One is to His flourishing emanation:
ever-renewing.

And you,
God’s eternal effect, His treasured heir—
in oneness enduring, in entity complete—
yes, do claim . . . indeed, proclaim
your forever
inheritance.
